Pilots must have at least an intermediate rating to compete in either class. Novice pilots are welcome to attend, meet and fly with other pilots and receive advice from more experienced pilots each day.

I acknowledge that competition hang
gliding involves additional risks that go beyond recreational hang glider
flying. I agree to abide by the rules of
the competition and will accept any rulings made by the competition committee
and directions from the Meet Director that may involve me directly or
indirectly. I acknowledge that should I
decide to fly a hang glider at any time during the period of the competition it
will be entirely voluntary and after personally considering the risks of flying.
By sending this application I confirm I am a
member of the NZHGPA(Inc.) and that I have read and understood the contents
of the waiver section of the NZHGPA membership form.
I accept total responsibility for the
airworthiness of all hang gliders I fly during the competition and confirm that
the hang glider(s) I may fly during and for the competition will have a current
warrant of fitness and comply with all expected standards of airworthiness.
By acknowledging this waiver and participating
in this competition and any associated flying during the competition, I accept
and assume all the risks of injury to myself, and accept all liability and
responsibility of injury I may cause by my actions and flying to others and all
resultant direct and consequential property damage. Further, I release and hold blameless the
organisers, Meet Director, all competition committees, and all agents thereof
from all claims, losses, damage or expenses that may be incurred during the
competition, including any negligence of all such persons or committees above
mentioned with my participation in the competition.
